Grays Harbor Fire District 5 is an all hazard emergency services department. Which means we provide Emergecy Medical, Structual and wildland fire suppression, Technical Rescue, and Hazardous Materials response to our citizens.
Volunteer and Career firefighters combined make up your emergency response team. This team is highley dependant on each other in order to maintain its level of service provided to the citizen.
The Training Division of District 5 is made up of both Volunteer and career fire officers. Who are dedicated and committed to providing a training program that enhances employee saftey and training to a professional and confident level.
To accomplish this we strive to ensure that all District staff; Volunteer and Career, meet the standards set forth by the State of Washington Labor and Industries, National Fire Protection Agency and the American Heart Association.
The initial training for all new members, begins with Firefighter Recruit training which includes Basic Firefighting, Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training, Hazmat Awareness and Emergency Medical services.
Additional training opportunities includes Emergency Medical training to the level of State First Responder, EMT or Paramedic, State IFSAC Firefighter 1 training Academy, and Technical Rescue training.
